The Coshocton City Utilities Department is committed to providing quality, safe and affordable water and wastewater services to the citizens of Coshocton and surrounding areas. The City of Coshocton operates a groundwater treatment facility that provides high-quality drinking water to over 5,400 customers. A major plant expansion was completed in 2008 and based on OEPA criteria the plant is rated to deliver up to 15 MGD. The City of Coshocton Wastewater Treatment Plant is a 4.4 MGD trickling filter plant with the available capacity of 2.7 MGD. A recent expansion in the fall of 2008, resulted in a complete renovation of the three trickling filters and installation of a new high strength BOD removal system. The WWTP has a grit removal system, primary and secondary clarifiers, chlorine contact tank, de-chlorination, primary and secondary anaerobic digesters, a belt press and sludge holding facility. The available capacity at the Water and Wastewater Plants positions the City of Coshocton as a community set for growth and able to immediately supply commercial and industrial development needs.
